The Parent Portal allows applicants to apply to Telford & Wrekin Council for both a School place and a Talking 2s place.
To begin using the Portal, please create an account using the 'Sign In or Create Account' link which can be found on the upper left side of this page.
Please note that when creating or changing a password, it must include a capital letter, a number and a special character and should not be a word.

Applying for a school place
You can apply here for the following:
- Starting Primary School (Reception) - Closing Date 15th January
- Transferring from Infant to Junior School - Closing Date 15th January
- Transferring from Primary to Secondary School - Closing Date 31st October
- In Year Transfer - For the current academic year

If you are applying for a place to start primary school (Reception) or transferring from primary to secondary school (Year 7), you are strongly advised to apply to four local schools including your catchment area/nearest school. You can check which school is your catchment area/nearest school using our catchment area school finder.
To understand how places are offered, please read the admission arrangements for each school which are available on the on the school's website and on the Telford and Wrekin website.
Some faith schools will also need you to complete a supplementary information form and return this to the school directly, this is in addition to your school application.
To apply for Thomas Telford School or any independent school you will need to apply directly to the school.
Telford & Wrekin Local Authority operate a Fair Access Protocol for children who are deemed hard to place outside of the normal admission rounds further information is available on our website.
If you already attend a school within the borough we recommend that you discuss your application with your current school before making an in-year transfer application.
When you have completed your application, please read the terms and conditions and click on submit. If you do not submit your application, it cannot be processed.
Once received by the LA, you cannot make changes to your application via the parent portal. You should make sure that you are happy with the details before you submit. Please contact admissions@telford.gov.uk. school admissions to request any changes to your application after submission
If you live outside of Telford and Wrekin and are applying for your child to start primary school for the first time, or transferring to junior or secondary school, you will need to apply to your home local authority. If you are moving into the borough, we will require proof of your new address. Your address evidence can be uploaded with your application or sent to us at admissions@telford.gov.uk.
We will not process your in year application more than 6 school weeks (½ a term) before a house move. Please provide your tenancy agreement/exchange of contract to support your application.
Travelling to School: You should consider how your child will travel to and from school. If you would like your child to go to a school further away than your nearest school, generally, you will be responsible for any travel arrangements and associated costs. For more information, please refer to the Home to School Travel Policy.
Applications for Children in Care (looked after children) must be completed by the Social Worker. We cannot accept applications from any other person.
If your family is part of the British Armed Forces and you are being relocated to Telford, you must provide confirmation from the Commanding Officer regarding your posting to the area so we can allocate a place in advance of your arrival.
As from January 2018 this is the official process to apply for a Talking 2s Place under the financial criteria. Parents/carers applying under the alternative criteria found here should contact the childcare provider of their choice directly. A child's funding starts the term after the child's 2nd birthday.
